Towers in the Hills

Another assignment from school. The goal was to build a mountainous terrain and then make a "base" for it. I chose to make a massive fantasy fortress. The architecture is inspired by the dwarven cities from World of Warcraft.
I used Houdini to build the landscape, Maya to model the assets, Substance Painter to texture things, then created my materials in the Unreal Engine where I assembled my final scene.

The landscape as it was made in Houdini. The road palcement was made in Unreal using splines.

In the distance looms a fortress that dwarves the mountain it's built into.

As you approach the stone wall, the sheer scale of the towers becomes evident. Just what sort of threat could such gargantuan towers be defending against?

As the sun settles beyond the horizon, you may find comfort in the mighty walls of the fortress. There is likely nothing that could penetrate such a fortified location.
